Cosmin Ciofirdel is a Ceramic Artist based in London, UK.

Clay has always felt like a language to me — one that speaks without words, yet carries the weight of thought, memory, and emotion. When I work, I’m not only shaping material; I’m searching for balance, for that quiet point where form, movement, and stillness meet.

My practice is rooted in curiosity and a deep respect for the tactile. Clay demands presence — it records every gesture, every hesitation — and that honesty draws me to it. Each piece begins as an exploration of rhythm and structure, but it often becomes something more intuitive, almost meditative.

I am fascinated by contrasts: weight and lightness, strength and fragility, permanence and impermanence. Through form and surface, I try to capture moments that feel both grounded and transient — objects that hold space, yet leave room for the viewer’s interpretation.

Ceramics, for me, is more than a medium; it’s a way of thinking and feeling through material. Every vessel, every sculptural piece carries a story of touch, time, and transformation.
